Dear Friends of Kingston Inner Harbour,

First the invitation!
ALL CANDIDATES MEETING, Oct 9, 7-9 pm sponsored jointly by the McBurney Park Neighbourhood Association and the Friends of Kingston Inner Harbour.  Location to be announced.
Those running for Mayor, King’s town Councillor, and King’s Town school board trustees will be invited.
Further info in the October update and soon on the calendar at www.friendsofinnerharbour.com. Stay tuned.

Second, we are truly enjoying the results of our ON THE WALL street art festival.  If you have not yet visited the wall, do so.  The work of the juried artists is truly wonderful.  Some of the blank wall spaces left have now been filled in with work that is not so stellar but thankfully none of the juried pieces has been painted over.  Respect is evident.
If you are interested in a few more images of just how wonderful street art can be visit

8) THE AMARA ZEE is still trying to get permission from Transport Canada to enter Canadian waters and do their Caravan Stage performances.  If we hear anything, we will definitely let you know.  Last heard they were performing in New York City.

9) THE GREAT CANADIAN SHORELINE CLEAN-UP, Sept 20-28.  We have participated in the past.  Site coordinator needed to organize clean-up for 2-3 hours on one day of your choosing.  If you are interested, that would be truly wonderful.  Register online:  www.shorelinecleanup.ca.   Tell friends and tell us and we will put it up on our calendar.

10) REFERENDUM QUESTION ON KINGSTON CASINO ISSUE on upcoming October ballot.  Last year’s Friends of Kingston Inner Harbour online survey showed over 95% opposed.  To learn more, visit www.nocasinokingston.ca  and encourage your friends to do the same.  Lots of interesting reading.

Trust you are enjoying the beautiful weather and our beautiful Doug Fluhrer Park.  I just found out recently that its traditional name was “The Willows”.  Nice!
Cheers,
