And so our amazing and wonderful street art festival has come to a close. 
The quality and variety of the work is truly outstanding.  If you haven’t been in the park recently, do come down and have a look. Thanks SO very much to all who participated!

1) Free Inner Harbour Paint the Town event
Three days of Plein Air painting and sketching in the Inner Harbour and Swamp Ward.

2) City and Kingston Transit call for artist Pop Ups during Culture Days 2017

Performing artists are encouraged to apply and perform Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2017
Deadline for applications: Sept. 8, 12 p.m.
 
KINGSTON, ONT./August 30, 2017–  The City of Kingston and Kingston Transit want to connect arts, culture and people throughout the city during Culture Days 2017 and are seeking proposals from artists, creators, collectives and performers in all media to present Pop Ups on Kingston Transit buses and at stops/transfer points during Culture Days 2017.  All proposals are to be submitted via email to tnorris@cityofkingston.ca.
 
The Culture Days Pop Ups will take place on transit busses and at transit stops and transfer points throughout Kingston. These PopUps aim to showcase the variety of arts and culture that take place in Kingston. Proposals should take into consideration that the Pop Ups will be presented in public spaces, are intended to showcase arts and culture across Kingston, and invite participation. Each Pop Up will be paired with a Culture Days volunteer to assist the artists/creators and to answer public inquiries.
 
ELIGIBILITY
Kingston-based emerging and established artists and creators are encouraged to submit a proposal via email to tnorris@cityofkingston.ca no later than 12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 to present a Pop Up performance during Culture Days 2017 (Sept. 29, 30 and Oct. 1). All media will be considered but must be appropriate to public presentation, encourage fun and invite participation. There is an honorarium of $125 per performance hour, up to a maximum of four hours throughout Culture Days.  Please note this is the total budget for your Pop Up, regardless of the number of artists participating in the Pop Up.

Culture Days is an annual three-day event featuring engaging community arts activities. It is just so lovely these days walking in the park by our truly amazing street art pieces and spying the few odd turtles of all sizes basking.  We are so blessed!
