5) Studio 22 outreach for Sandy Pines
Award- winning author-illustrator Wallace Edwards’ exhibit on view at Studio 22 in Market Square until July 14th. Wallace Edwards and Studio 22 will be donating a significant portion of all watercolour and pencil animal studies exhibit sales to the Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre in Napanee who suffered a devastating loss earlier this year when their nearly 25-year old barn was destroyed in a fire. Monies raised will assist Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre with reconstruction efforts and expenses.
As many of you are aware, the Friends of Kingston Inner Harbour are in close contact with Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre as we often receive turtle hatchlings they have incubated for release in Kingston’s Inner Harbour.  It is an organization definitely worth supporting.

6)  Looking for turtle volunteers for July
As you know we are protecting over 100 nests once again this year in the Inner Harbour area around Douglas R. Fluhrer Park.  A volunteer goes out for a morning or evening for a half hour any day they are free to fill out a data sheet on what they observe.  The data sheets are then coordinated and submitted to Ontario Nature.  If you are interested in participating in this fun citizen-science adventure, contact Katie at 14kw30@queensu.ca
